Visitors and browsers are welcome during operating hours: Monday-Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Central Time. Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Central Time. The loan period is 90 days. Items may be renewed for one additional loan period unless they have been requested by another customer. Borrowers are charged a small handling fee to cover expenses (see below). There is an overdue fine of one cent per day per each piece of music (so if someone had a complete set with 20 parts that would be 20 cents a day).
The library does accept requests by phone or email. The library charges a small service fee since it is a private library.

The Chatfield Music Lending Library in Chatfield Minnesota is the only one of its kind in the world today. Dedicated to the preservation of our band musical heritage, the library has collected and cataloged more than 51,000 pieces, many of which are no longer in print.
The music collection not only includes band music (the largest portion), but also dance band, sheet music, and numerous other categories.
The library is a non-profit organization, funded solely by memberships, fees, and donations.
