Circus, Rags, and more March Books

Teresa Cerling, Library manager

Thank you to everyone that contributed to the music library. Because of your generosity we are able to continue this project. We are still working on entering the march books. The last one entered was V-E Polka Book published in 1924 by the Vitak-Elsnic Co. This book contains 16 snappy polkas arranged in dance tempo suitable for band and orchestra combinations. This has been a very popular book with our patrons.
We have entered all 26 circus tunes that we have, and all 72 rag’s. A few of the rag titles are, “Temptation Rag” by Henry Lodge, arranged by W. C. O’Hare and “12th Street Rag” by Euday L. Bowman, arranged by John Higgins.
